Whenever asked to write about chandelier lighting I’m reminded of those opulent mansions that one occasionally drives past or sees in the glossies which feature the rich and the famous, or those movies where they show ladies in lovely gowns with a retinue of servants following them. Chandelier lighting can completely transform the look of the house. It gives a touch of grandeur to the house and it just can’t fit in any house.A one bedroom apartment is hardly a place for chandelier lighting.

Antler Chandelier Add a rustic charm to your home

September 23rd, 2009

Whenever I think of Antler chandeliers I’m reminded of those fairy tales that were based in woods, Hansel and Gretel and Snow white and the seven Dwarfs. The woods added that unique charm to the story. I can visualize a charming antler chandelier like a deer antler chandelier or an elk antler chandelier adorning the ceiling of their lovely cottage.

While trying to research on the topic of antler chandeliers I came across a poll where they had shown a picture of an antler chandelier which had been painted glossy and they wanted to know whether you loved it or hated it. I loved it because it looked good and frankly as long as it added to the décor there was no harm in it.

Lighting Chandeliers Add Glamour to your Home

September 15th, 2009

As a child I recall visiting museums and houses that collected period items. One thing that they all had in their collection was lighting chandeliers. The huge creation made of glass spreading light and swinging gracefully from the ceiling looked very attractive. I recall spending several hours watching these glass creations totally mesmerized.

I also recall watching several period romances on celluloid that featured lighting chandeliers as it swayed gracefully along with the lovely gown that the central character of the film was wearing.

Bathroom Lights Light Up Your Space

September 14th, 2009

When planning to redesign your house do you take the bathrooms into consideration? Probably not, most of us still designate the bathroom as a dull washroom where we need to spend some time due to necessities. With this attitude towards the bathroom, you are hardly expected to think about the bathroom lights. If it was your hall or study or kitchen or the bedroom, you would not just spend hours planning out the color scheme and layout but also pay personal attention to the light fixtures. If it’s the kitchen or the living room you would definitely ensure that each corner is lighted. You will personally select the lights and see that every corner of the room is lighted. You will try to ensure that proper light falls on every corner and if you have placed a decoration piece then it shows off best because of a light fixture that is fixed at just the right angle.

Bathroom Light Fixtures In The Modern Bathroom

September 13th, 2009

There was a time when bathrooms meant a drab looking room where you spent around an hour in a day. It was a room for washing yourself and the clothes. It was small in size and had drab looking color combinations with the ubiquitous white bathtub and WC. The taps (that is what they were called!) were either made of brass or steel and were absolutely plain looking. The bathroom light fixtures meant an ordinary looking bulb emitting yellow light or maybe a white light; they were usually badly lighted and had an aura of dinginess about them. The bathroom door was always locked and guests were only shown the room if somebody needed to wash themselves. The bathroom was only meant for utility and nobody bothered about the décor.
